In Philadelphia’s Mantua neighborhood, rising housing costs have made stability harder for working families. Developer Charles Lomax and his partners at Lomax Real Estate saw an opportunity to bring affordable housing, quality design, and community resources together in one place.
Finanta supported Village at Haverford Square early in its development, providing predevelopment financing that helped close critical funding gaps and move the project forward. The first phase includes 32 high-quality, energy-efficient rental units for low- and moderate-income families.
More than just housing, the project replaces long-vacant lots with a dynamic community hub featuring an early learning center, art space, workforce development services, and access to healthy food—all designed to help families thrive in place.
