Daniel Betancourt is the President and CEO of Finanta (formerly Community First Fund), leading the organization’s transformation into a high-impact, nationally recognized Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) advancing economic opportunity. Under his leadership, Finanta has grown to manage over $250 million in capital under management, securing significant investments, including New Markets Tax Credits, to support small businesses, affordable housing, and community development.

A steadfast advocate for financial inclusion, Daniel led the launch of Finanta Credit Union in 2022. With a focus on expanding access to safe, reliable, and inclusive financial services, Finanta Credit Union provides a critical banking alternative for those excluded from the traditional financial system.

Daniel has over 30 years of related experience, and became President and CEO of Finanta in May 1999. His advocacy has allowed him to testify before the U.S. Senate and House Small Business Committees, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and the FDIC/CDFI Fund Conference—championing policies that increases access to capital for underserved entrepreneurs.

Daniel continues to drive financial equity, ensuring that small business owners, first-time homebuyers and working families have access to the resources they need to build generational wealth. Deeply committed to the economic development landscape, Daniel serves the community on the following boards and committees:
