Daniel Betancourt

President and ceo

As President and CEO of FINANTA, Dan is focused on advancing our mission by building and maintaining vital relationships with corporate, government, and philanthropic partners in our targeted communities. He assumed the leadership role when FINANTA combined with Community First Fund, another regional CDFI where Dan has served as President and CEO since 1999. Dan currently serves on the board of directors for the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Partners for the Common Good and the Santander Community Advisory Board, among others. He also serves on the New Market Tax Credit Advisory Board for the Reinvestment Fund and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Economic and Community Advisory Council. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Millersville University.

 

Kersy Azocar

Senior VP of Microlending

Kersy joined FINANTA in 2008, bringing over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Prior to FINANTA, Kersy worked as a mortgage consultant at PHH Mortgage Corp.  As the SVP of Microlending, Kersy directs the implementation, management, coordination, and delivery of microlending for first-time consumer, entrepreneur,  and homebuyer borrowers in FINANTA’s innovative Affinity Group Lending Program.   Kersy has a Degree in General Studies from City College of New             York, New York.                                                           

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

 

 

Frederick  rivera

Assistant Vice President
Lending

 

Frederick joined FINANTA in 2008 with more than 30 years of experience in international small business development, residential mortgage lending, and consulting. As AVP of Lending, Frederick manages mortgage lending functions targeting first-time homebuyers and provides credit-building services and homeownership counseling to individuals and families preparing to become homeowners. In his prior role as a consultant, Frederick led projects involving first-time technology deployment, key personnel training, market analysis, product implementation, and sales training. Originally from Puerto Rico, Frederick holds a Bachelor of Biology from the University of Puerto Rico.              

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pitou Chen

AVP of Accounting

Pitou joined FINANTA in 2013, bringing over several years of nonprofit accounting experience.  As AVP of Accounting, he oversees FINANTA’s loan servicing and accounting functions, and the maintenance of all FINANTA real estate. Originally from Cambodia, Pitou holds a Bachelor in Management from University of Mangement, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a Bachelor in International Business from Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA, and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA.                                                               

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                                                   

   

Peter Santiago

Vice President of I.T. 

Peter joined FINANTA in 2009, bringing over 35 years of experience in information technology. Prior to FINANTA, Peter provided IT consulting services to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and law enforcement agencies. As FINANTA’s VP of IT, Peter manages FINANTA’s technology, including internet security and database processing.  Peter graduated from Edison School Academy of Applied Science and has and accelerated Degree in Computer Science from the Computer Learning Center, Philadelphia, PA.                                                                                                                                    

 

Carolin Jimenez 

AVP of Microlending

Carolin joined FINANTA in 2010, bringing over 7 years of experience in customer service and retail management.  At FINANTA, Carolin has developed an in-depth expertise in lending and loan servicing. As an AVP of Microlending, Carolin implements and expands FINANTA’s Microlending Program, which aims at training and preparing groups of consumers, entrepreneurs, or first-time homebuyers to build credit and borrow successfully.  Carolin works to expand FINANTA’s Affinity Group Lending customer base by creating alliances with community-based groups and other  initiatives.

Microlending officer

Page joined FINANTA in 2017 with over 30 years of business expansion, relationship management, and workforce development. As Microlending Officer, Page deploys Affinity Group Lending products and services, and provides technical assistance and training. Prior to FINANTA, Page led various economic development projects at a community development corporation targeting entrepreneurs. Originally from Abington, Page holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Temple University.

 

 

 

Peder Wiegner

vp of STRATEGIC expansion

Peder joined FINANTA in 2018, bringing over ten years of experience in nonprofit development work in the US and several other countries around the world. As VP of Strategic Expansion, Peder explores ways to expand the FINANTA mission to a larger geographic area, thus facilitating access to capital and consulting services to more communities in need.  Peder has a Bachelor in Political Science, and an MBA in International Economic Development  from Eastern University,    St. Davis, PA.                           

                                                                            

 

Leidy ramirez

MORTGAGE COORDINATOR

Leidy joined FINANTA in 2017, bringing over 10 years of customer service and data management experience.  As a Loan Officer, she handles mortgage lending from intake, through to closing and thereafter, providing labor intensive mortgage counseling.  Prior to becoming a Loan Officer, she handled all loan servicing functions for FINANTA.  She holds a Diploma with a Major in Business Administration from Samuel S. Fels, Philadelphia, PA.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

 

 

Kassandra colon

loan Administrator

Kassandra joined FINANTA in 2018, bringing over 4 years of experience in education. As a Loan Administrator, Kassandra works on the day-to-day operations of the lending department, assisting loan officers with an array of issues, including loan servicing and data management software systems, and workshop preparation for client training. Kassandra holds a Degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern University, St. Davis, PA.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Jenny Herrera

Loan Officer

Jenny joined FINANTA in 2019, bringing over 15 years in civil rights, contract and case management, retail banking, and social and administrative work.  In her role at FINANTA, she performs beginning-to-end lending processes including technical assistance, underwriting, closing, and servicing for entrepreneurs and small business owners borrowers, and expands the client base by assisting with market development.  Jenny has a Master in Business Administration-Global Management from Strayer University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Colombia, Bogota, Colombia.                                  

 

 

Mariana Hinojosa

 microlending Officer

Mariana joined FINANTA in 2019, bringing over 5 years of experience working at a variety of CDCs. In this role, Mariana works closely with Affinity Group Lending (AGL) clients to help build their financial capacity by providing capital, training, and technical assistance. Mariana is also part of a team assisting with the expansion of the innovative AGL model, replicating it at other institutions. Prior to FINANTA, Mariana was a Project Coordinator for a CDC dedicated to housing, where she provided support to the Administration and Counseling Departments. Furthermore, she worked at a small business development association providing administrative and marketing support.

Indah Nuritasari 

Microlending  Officer

Indah joined FINANTA in 2019, bringing over more than 27 years of experience in asset building, lending, community outreach, and journalism. Prior to FINANTA, she worked for other nonprofit organizations providing development services to minority and refugee citizens, and being a journalist in several countries around the world. Indah has worked with more than 45 immigrant communities in PA. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in German Literature and a Master’s in Planning and Public Policy from the University of Indonesia, Indonesia.                                        

 

Roxanna encarnacion

Avp of microlending

Roxanna joined FINANTA in 2011, bringing over several years of small business administration experience. As AVP of Microlending, she works directly with Affinity Group Lending clients, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and capital necessary to help them meet their financial goals. Roxanna holds an Associates Degree in Engineering Science from the Community College of Philadelphia, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA.                            

                                                           

 

Monica Herrera

microlending Coordinator

As Microlending Coordinator, Monica coordinates the business and financial literacy programs and offers one-on-one TA to FINANTA’s clients especially regarding personal finances and business management. She holds a Master’s in International Cooperation, Public Policy, and Development Projects and a Bachelor of Business Management. She has experience in administration, finance, marketing and human resources in the public and private sectors, NGO’s and cooperatives, in the United States, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Spain.
