Luis Mora


Luis founded FINANTA, a mission-driven lending institution facilitating access to capital and consultation services for entrepreneurs, consumers, and first-time homebuyers in the Philadelphia region.  Since 1996, FINANTA has developed a substantial track record in business, homeownership, and consumer counseling, and a $50+ million lending history. Prior to FINANTA, Luis founded and directed CoreStates Community Development and Financing, a $66 million socioeconomic and cultural investment program of CoreStates Bank, now Wells Fargo. This program was among the nation’s first nonprofit community development arms of a commercial bank. Luis holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans.

Jonathan Rollins

Chief Operating Officer

Jonathan joined FINANTA in 2016 with over 7 years of experience in the field of financial inclusion. Prior to FINANTA, Jonathan worked with Innovations for Poverty Action in Peru to develop, implement and test a Financial Coaching initiative targeting low-income urban Peruvians; for Vittana in Bolivia to provide consulting services for several microfinance institutions on the design and launch of innovative student loan products; for Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners in New York City as a Financial Advisor focused on expanding the financial capability of low-income New Yorkers; and for the Foundation for Sustainable Development in Nicaragua, coordinating programmatic activities and a team of interns and partner organizations developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainable development initiatives.

Brian Sime

Chief Financial Officer

Brian joined the FINANTA team in 2013 with extensive professional experience in nonprofit and for-profit accounting and financial management. He has a proven, long-term track record of improving organizational financial accuracy, credibility, and efficiency. As FINANTA’s Chief Financial Officer, Brian is responsible for all accounting, finance, and loan servicing operations, and works closely with the president to advance the organization’s mission. Over the course of the last five years in his position at FINANTA, Brian has developed new systems and procedures to enhance managerial procedures financial practices. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Kersy Azocar

Vice President of Microlending

Kersy joined the FINANTA team in 2008, bringing over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry with her. Prior to FINANTA, Kersy worked as a mortgage loan consultant at PHH Mortgage Corporation. As the Vice President of Microlending, Kersy directs the implementation, management, coordination, and delivery of microlending for first-time entrepreneur, consumer, and homebuyer borrowers in FINANTA’s innovative Affinity Group Lending program. She is also responsible for providing lending services and technical assistance directly to clients. Kersy has a degree in General Studies from City College of New York, New York.

Michael Alles

Vice President of Lending

Michael joined the FINANTA team in 2014 with four years of experience in retail banking. As FINANTA’s Vice President of Lending, Michael oversees beginning-to-end lending processes including technical assistance, underwriting, closing, and servicing for business and residential borrowers, and helps FINANTA develop nonprofit partnerships in the communities it serves. He assists with client development and provides loan packaging, project management, and other technical assistance as needed. Michael holds a Bachelor of Political Science from Villanova University.

Cheryl Molle

Vice President of Development and Marketing

Cheryl joined FINANTA in 2017 with a background in nonprofit development and marketing, program evaluation, community building, and political advocacy. As Vice President of Development and Marketing, she leads fundraising and communications at FINANTA. She supports FINANTA’s mission by creating and implementing strategic development and marketing plans, cultivating relationships with donors and major funders, and engaging in community outreach. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work in Practice with Communities and Policy Arenas from Temple University. Cheryl is a Philadelphia Citizen Planner and is actively involved in community development in the North Delaware section of the city, where she serves as Co-Vice President and Greening Committee Chair of the Holmesburg Civic Association.

Peter Santiago

Vice President of Information Technology

Peter joined the FINANTA team in 2009, bringing over 35 of experience in information technology with him. Prior to FINANTA, Peter provided information technology consulting services to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and law enforcement agencies. As FINANTA’s Vice President of Information Technology, Peter independently manages FINANTA’s technology, including internet security and database processing. Peter graduated from Edison Schools Academy of Applied Science and has and accelerated degree in Computer Science from the Computer Learning Center.

Melissa Taina Santiago

Vice President of Technical Assistance

Taina joined FINANTA in 2015 with more than 18 years of experience in home purchasing training, mortgage foreclosure intervention and prevention, credit counseling, and nonprofit management. At FINANTA, she oversees the Technical Assistance Department, which provides pre-, mid-, and post-loan credit building training and coaching and individualized, hands-on technical assistance to entrepreneurs, consumers, and first-time homebuyers. Taina has a degree in Social Services from Community College of Philadelphia.

Pitou Chen

Assistant Vice President of Accounting and Real Estate Management

Pitou joined the FINANTA team in 2013 with over two years of nonprofit accounting experience. As Assistant Vice President of Accounting & Real Estate Management, he oversees FINANTA’s loan servicing and accounting functions and the maintenance of all FINANTA real estate. Originally from Cambodia, Pitou holds a Bachelor of International Business from Slippery Rock University and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University.

Carolin Jimenez

Assistant Vice President of Microlending

Carolin joined FINANTA in 2010 with seven years of experience in customer service and retail management. At FINANTA, Carolin has developed an in-depth expertise in lending and loan servicing. As an Assistant Vice President of Microlending, Carolin implements and expands FINANTA’s microlending program, which is aimed at training and preparing groups of small business owners and consumers to build credit and borrow successfully. Carolin also works to grow FINANTA’s Affinity Group Lending customer base by creating alliances with community-based groups and initiatives.

Roxanna Encarnacion

Assistant Vice President of Microlending

Roxanna joined FINANTA in 2011 with several years of small business administration experience. In her first position at FINANTA, she conducted loan servicing and loan portfolio post-closing management, and oversees loan payment processing. Today, as an Assistant Vice President of Microlending, she works directly with Affinity Group Lending clients, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and capital necessary to help them meet their financial goals. Roxanna holds an Associates Degree in Engineering Science from the Community College of Philadelphia and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chestnut Hill College.

Stella Tai

Assistant Vice President of Lending

Stella joined FINANTA in 2014 with over 10 years of experience providing accounting, lending, and technical assistance to nonprofits and entrepreneurs. Stella handles beginning-to-end business borrower applications including technical assistance, underwriting, closing, and servicing. She assists in client development and provides loan packaging and other technical assistance as needed. Prior to FINANTA, Stella worked as an accountant for The Reinvestment Fund and Prism Career Institute, managing grant compliance requirements and accounting functions. She has also been an entrepreneur herself, running a real estate business for eight years. Stella holds a Master of Economic Development from Eastern University and a Bachelor of Business and Marketing from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.

Frederick Rivera

Assistant Vice President of lending

Frederick joined FINANTA in 2008 with more than 30 years of experience in international small business development, residential mortgage lending, and consulting. Frederick manages the administration of FINANTA mortgage products targeting first-time homebuyers and provides credit-building services and homeownership counseling to individuals and families preparing to become homeowners. He also manages Project Reinvest: Homeownership, a down payment assistance loan program that FINANTA implements in partnership with New Kensington Community Development Corporation. In his prior role as a consultant, Frederick led projects involving first-time technology deployment, key personnel training, market analysis, product implementation, and sales training. For the past 10 years, Frederick has been dedicated to mortgage lending for first-time homebuyers. Frederick holds a Bachelor of Biology from the University of Puerto Rico.

Page Huey

Microlending Officer

Page joined FINANTA in 2017 with over 30 years of business development, business relationship management, and workforce development experience at non- and for-profit organizations in the Philadelphia region. Prior to joining the FINANTA team, Page led various economic development projects at a community development corporation targeted to small business development. She was a Director at the Philadelphia Academies, Inc. where she worked for 18 years promoting the career-academy model with a focus on career-academy board management, workforce pipelines, and workforce development for high school students. As Microlending Officer, Page delivers Affinity Group Lending products and services and develops the program’s customer base. She also provides technical assistance and training to Affinity Group Lending Program participants. Page has a degree from Temple University and has been a Rotarian the Philadelphia area for 20 years.

Dayiana Garcia

Financial Capability Officer

Dayiana joined the FINANTA team in 2015 with five years of experience in database and program coordination and housing counseling, including rental, credit, home purchasing, post-homeowner counseling, and mortgage foreclosure intervention and prevention. In her first position at FINANTA, she was responsible for loan servicing. As Financial Capability Officer, Dayiana empowers and strengthens the communities FINANTA serves by providing hands-on technical assistance to entrepreneurs, consumers, and homebuyers and teaching individuals how to access critical socioeconomic resources, improve their credit, and build their assets. Dayiana has a degree in Criminal Justice and is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Gabrielle Lantieri

Project Manager

Gabrielle joined FINANTA in 2017 with a background in campaign finance, public policy research, grant writing, and direct social services. As Project Manager, she supports business clients in improving their financial well-being by strengthening, growing, and expanding their businesses. She works to empower and support clients’ financial goals through financial coaching, educational workshops, and grant application management. Gabrielle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Women’s Studies from Fordham University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Drexel University. Her research at the Center for Public Policy focused on monitoring and evaluation systems in the U.S. Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security. Gabrielle is a board member of the Delaware Valley Opera Company, committee member of Millennial Catholic P.O.W.E.R., member of Project Home Young Leader’s Committee, and a volunteer at Prevention Point.
