Luis has been a pioneer in economic and housing development for over 30 years. In 1996, Luis founded FINANTA, a $16.5 million nonprofit mission-driven lender facilitating access to capital and technical assistance to entrepreneurs, first-time home buyers and consumers in the Philadelphia region. FINANTA has a substantial track record in business, homeownership, and consumer counseling, as well as a $47+ million history in micro/small business, mortgage, consumer, and nonprofit lending. Prior to founding FINANTA, Luis created and directed the CoreStates Community Development and Financing groups, a $66 million economic, housing, social, and cultural investment program of CoreStates Bank, NA, now Wells Fargo Bank. This program was unique and among the nations first non-profit community development arm of a commercial banking institution. A native of Costa Rica, Luis holds a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Brian joined FINANTA in 2013 with extensive experience in non-profit and for-profit financial management. He has a proven track record in increasing organizational financial accuracy, credibility, and efficiency. As FINANTAs Chief Financial Officer, he oversees all accounting, finance, and loan servicing operations, and works closely with the President to advance the mission. He has developed new systems and procedures to enhance managerial information. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Drexel University, Pennsylvania.

Jonathan joined FINANTA in 2016 with over 7 years of experience in the field of Financial Inclusion. Prior to FINANTA, Jonathan worked with Innovations for Poverty Action in Peru to develop, implement and test a Financial Coaching initiative targeting low-income urban Peruvians; for Vittana in Bolivia to provide consulting services for several microfinance institutions on the design and launch of innovative student loan products; for Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners in NYC as a Financial Advisor focused on expanding the financial capability of low-income New Yorkers; and for the Foundation for Sustainable Development in Nicaragua, coordinating programmatic activities, and a team of interns and partner organizations developing, implementing and monitoring sustainable development initiatives.

As the VP of Microlending, Kersy directs the implementation, management, coordination, and delivery of technical assistance and microlending for first-time entrepreneur, homebuyer, and consumer borrowers, in lending circles/affinity group programming. She has a degree in General Studies from City College of NY, New York.

Michael joined FINANTA in 2014 with four years of experience in retail banking. As a VP of Business Lending, Michael oversees the start-to-end business lending processes including underwriting, closing, and servicing for business borrowers. He assists client development and nonprofit partnering, while also providing loan packaging and other technical assistance as needed. Michael has a Degree in Political Science from Villanova University, Pennsylvania.

Stella joined FINANTA in 2014 with over ten years of experience providing accounting, lending, and technical assistance to nonprofits and small business owners. At present, Stella implements and expands FINANTAs microlending program aimed at training and preparing groups of microbusiness owners and consumers to build credit and individually borrow. She also works at increasing the customer base by creating alliances with community based groups and initiatives. Prior to joining FINANTA, Stella worked as an accountant for The Reinvestment Fund and Prism Career Institute, managing grant compliance requirements and all accounting functions. Stella has also been an entrepreneur herself, running a real estate business for eight years. Stella holds a Masters in Economic Development from Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania and a Bachelors degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

She has a degree in Social Services from Philadelphia Community College, Pennsylvania.

Frederick Rivera joined FINANTA in 2008 with more than 30-years expertise in international small business development, residential mortgage lending, and consulting services. Frederick leads the administration of FINANTA mortgage products targeting first-time homebuyers, and provides credit-building and homeownership counseling to individuals and families readying to become homeowners. In his prior role as a consultant, Frederick led projects involving first-time deployment of technology and training of key personnel, market analysis, product implementation and sales training. And for the past 10 years, Frederick has been dedicated to mortgage lending for first-time homebuyers as well as small business development consulting. Frederick holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico.

Dayiana joined FINANTA in 2015 with five years of experience in database coordination and housing counseling. As a Loan Servicing Officer, Dayiana is responsible for conducting all portfolio servicing, in addition to overseeing all post-closing documentation and loan packaging. Dayiana works to empower and strengthen our communities, teaching people to access resources, attain good credit, and build assets. Dayiana has a Degree in Criminal Justice and pursues a Bachelors in Business Administration at Eastern University, Pennsylvania.
