Luis has been a pioneer in economic and housing development for over 30 years. In 1996, Luis founded FINANTA, a $16.5 million nonprofit mission-driven lender facilitating access to capital and technical assistance to entrepreneurs, first-time home buyers and consumers in the Philadelphia region. FINANTA has a substantial track record in business, homeownership, and consumer counseling, as well as a $47+ million history in micro/small business, mortgage, consumer, and nonprofit lending. Prior to founding FINANTA, Luis created and directed the CoreStates Community Development and Financing groups, a $66 million economic, housing, social, and cultural investment program of CoreStates Bank, NA, now Wells Fargo Bank. This program was unique and among the nations first non-profit community development arm of a commercial banking institution. A native of Costa Rica, Luis holds a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Jonathan joined FINANTA in 2016 with over 7 years of experience in the field of financial inclusion. Prior to FINANTA, Jonathan worked with Innovations for Poverty Action in Peru to develop, implement and test a Financial Coaching initiative targeting low-income urban Peruvians; for Vittana in Bolivia to provide consulting services for several microfinance institutions on the design and launch of innovative student loan products; for Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners in NYC as a Financial Advisor focused on expanding the financial capability of low-income New Yorkers; and for the Foundation for Sustainable Development in Nicaragua, coordinating programmatic activities and a team of interns and partner organizations developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainable development initiatives.

Brian joined FINANTA in 2013 with extensive experience in non-profit and for-profit financial management. He has a proven track record in increasing organizational financial accuracy, credibility, and efficiency. As FINANTAs Chief Financial Officer, he oversees all accounting, finance, and loan servicing operations, and works closely with the President to advance the mission. He has developed new systems and procedures to enhance managerial information. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Drexel University, Pennsylvania.

Kersy Azocar joined FINANTA in 2008, bringing over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry with her. As the Vice President of Microlending, Kersy directs the implementation, management, coordination, and delivery of technical assistance and microlending for first-time entrepreneur, consumer, and homebuyer borrowers in lending circles/affinity group programming.  She has a degree in General Studies from City College of NY, New York.

Michael joined the FINANTA team in 2014 with four years of experience in retail banking. As a Vice President of Business Lending, Michael oversees beginning-to-end lending processes including technical assistance, underwriting, closing, and servicing for business and residential borrowers. He assists with client development and building nonprofit partnerships and provides loan packaging and other technical assistance as needed. Michael holds a Bachelor of Political Science from Villanova University.

Cheryl Molle joined the FINANTA team in 2017 with a background in nonprofit development and marketing, program evaluation, community building, and political advocacy. As Vice President of Development and Marketing, she leads FINANTA’s fundraising and communications activities. Cheryl supports FINANTA’s mission by developing and implementing strategic development and marketing plans, cultivating relationships with donors and major funders, and managing community outreach initiatives. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work in Practice with Communities and Policy Arenas from Temple University. She is a Licensed Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Cheryl is a Philadelphia Citizen Planner and is actively involved in community development initiatives in the North Delaware section of Philadelphia.

Peter joined FINANTA in 2009 with thirty-five years of experience in Information Technology (IT) consulting services for individuals, businesses, and law enforcement agencies. As Vice President of Information Technology, Peter manages FINANTA's technology, including internet security and database processing. He graduated from Edison Schools Academy of Applied Science and has and accelerated degree in Computer Science from the Computer Learning Center.

Taina joined FINANTA in 2015, with more than 18 years of experience in home purchasing training, mortgage foreclosure intervention and prevention, credit counseling, and nonprofit management. At FINANTA, she oversees the Technical Assistance Department, which provides pre-, mid-, and post-loan credit building and training, and technical assistance to entrepreneurs, consumers, and first-time homebuyers. Taina has a degree in Social Services from Community College of Philadelphia.

Carolin joined FINANTA in 2010 with seven years of experience in customer service and retail management. At FINANTA, she has developed an in-depth expertise in loan servicing. As an Assistant Vice President of Microlending, Carolin implements and expands FINANTA's microlending program, which is aimed at training and preparing groups of microbusiness owners and consumers to build credit and borrow successfully. She works to grow the customer base by creating alliances with community-based groups and initiatives.

Stella joined FINANTA in 2014 with over 10 years of experience providing accounting, lending, and technical assistance to nonprofits and small business owners.  Stella handles business borrower applications from beginning-to-end including technical assistance, underwriting, closing, and servicing. She assists in client development and creating nonprofit partnerships and provides loan packaging and other technical assistance as needed.  Prior to joining FINANTA, Stella worked as an accountant for The Reinvestment Fund and Prism Career Institute, managing grant compliance requirements and accounting functions. She has also been an entrepreneur herself, running a real estate business for eight years. Stella holds a Master of Economic Development from Eastern University and a Bachelor of Business and Marketing from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.

Frederick Rivera

Frederick joined FINANTA in 2008 with more than 30 years of experience in international small business development, residential mortgage lending, and consulting. Frederick manages the administration of FINANTA mortgage products targeting first-time homebuyers and provides credit-building services and homeownership counseling to individuals and families preparing to become homeowners. In his prior role as a consultant, Frederick led projects involving first-time technology deployment, key personnel training, market analysis, product implementation, and sales training. For the past 10 years, Frederick has been dedicated to mortgage lending for first-time homebuyers. Frederick holds a Bachelor of Biology from the University of Puerto Rico.

Page Huey joined the FINANTA team in 2017 with over 30 years of business development, business relationship management, and workforce development experience at non- and for-profit organizations in the Philadelphia region. Prior to FINANTA, Page led various economic development projects at a community development corporation targeted to small business development. She was a Director at the Philadelphia Academies, Inc. where she worked for 18 years promoting the career-academy model with a focus on career-academy board management, workforce pipelines, and workforce development for high school students. As a Microlending Officer, Page implements and expands PRECAPS products and services and develops the PRECAPS customer base. She also works to provide business-focused technical assistance and training to PRECAPS participants. Page has a degree from Temple University and has been a Rotarian the Philadelphia area for 20 years.

Maria joined FINANTA in 2017 after serving as volunteer Financial Director for Save Cambodia, working in Cambodia to generate awareness of human rights issue and promote self-sufficiency, sustainability, and global partnerships. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for how nonprofits improve individuals' quality of life. Born and raised in Mexico, she volunteers as a Director of Events for the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Philadelphia Chapter, a non-profit organization that focuses on inspiring, connecting and developing Latino Professionals. Maria is a bilingual Spanish and English speaker and holds a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Temple University Fox School of Business. Her role at FINANTA involves working directly with small business owners to promote the growth and economic expansion of diverse Philadelphia communities through the infusion of capital and the provision of business consultation services.

Gabrielle joined FINANTA in 2017 with a background in campaign finance, public policy research, grant writing, and direct social services counseling. As a Project Manager, Gabrielle supports business clients in improving their financial well-being by strengthening, growing, and expanding their businesses. Gabrielle works to empower and support clients in their financial goals through financial coaching, educational workshops, and grant application management. Gabrielle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Women’s Studies from Fordham University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Drexel University. Her research at the Center for Public Policy focused on monitoring and evaluation systems in the U.S. Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security. Gabrielle is a board member of the Delaware Valley Opera Company, committee member of Millennial Catholic P.O.W.E.R., member of Project Home Young Leader’s Committee, and a volunteer at Prevention Point.
